Frequently asked questions
Is Lani free?
Lani offers a 7-day free trial. After that, a subscription unlocks all of the tools and features.
Do I need an account?
No. Lani uses your iCloud account for sync. There’s nothing to sign up for, no password to remember.
Where does my data live?
In your iCloud private database (CloudKit). Lani’s servers — there are none — never see your data.
Does Lani work without internet?
Yes. Lani is fully offline-capable. Sync happens whenever you’re online.
Is there an iPad app?
Yes — Lani is a universal app, so it installs once and runs on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch with your data in sync. iPad-tuned layouts (Stage Manager, side-by-side) are coming soon.
What can the Apple Watch app do?
Today the Watch app is fitness-first: live tracking for strength and cardio workouts, set timers, heart rate, exercise progress. Routines, breathing sessions, and a slim Timeline view are coming soon.
What are the four tabs?
Timeline (your day), Compass (goals + insights), Toolkit (seven tools), and Create (quick capture). See How Lani is structured for the full layout.
Are there widgets and Live Activities?
Two Live Activities ship today — one for routines in flow, one for workouts in progress. Both appear on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Home Screen widgets, Lock Screen complications, and iPad widgets are coming soon.
Does Compass use AI?
Compass uses Apple’s on-device intelligence (the Foundation Models framework) for some insights. Everything runs entirely on your iPhone — no cloud calls, no third-party AI services, no analytics. Your patterns stay on your phone.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Lani on your iPhone.
Can I export my data?
Full data export (JSON + Markdown for journal entries) is on the roadmap.
